Dr. Gary Reisfield received his medical degree and completed his internal medicine internship at George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington DC. He completed a residency in anesthesiology and fellowship in addiction medicine at the University of Florida College of Medicine, Gainesville, as well as a fellowship in pain management at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Reisfield is an assistant professor and chief of Pain Management Services in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida College of Medicine.

Board certified in addiction medicine, hospice and palliative medicine, pain management, as well as anesthesiology, Dr. Reisfield is also a diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners. He is on the editorial advisory board of The Open Clinical Cancer Journal, on the editorial review board of the Journal of Opioid Management, and is a reviewer for Pain Medicine, Mayo Clinic Proceedings, and the Journal of Palliative Medicine, among others. Dr. Reisfield specializes in the management of chronic cancer and noncancer pain; his major research interest is medication adherence monitoring and he has authored numerous book chapters, journal articles, and abstracts on these topics.
