Dr. Rosemary Polomano received her master of science degree in nursing from the University of Pennsylvania (Penn), and her doctor of philosophy degree from the University of Maryland School of Nursing. She completed postdoctoral training in pain research through a United States Pharmacopeial Scientific Fellowship Award at the Department of Neurology at MCP-Hahnemann. Dr. Polomano is currently an associate professor of pain practice, associate professor of anesthesiology and critical care, and is a clinician educator at Penn.

Dr. Polomano is a member of the American Nurses Association, International Association for the Study of Pain, American Pain Society, American Society of Pain Management Nurses, and American Academy of Nursing, among others. She is on the editorial board for Clinical Therapeutics, Pain Medicine, and Clinical Nursing Research and serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Multidisciplinary Healthcare, Journal of Clinical Oncology Nursing, Journal of Pain, Journal of Pain and Symptom Management, and Pain. Dr. Polomano has published numerous articles and abstracts, as well as lectured extensively on the topic of pain management.
